Greg, Dan, and Francis (10km), and Nicole (5km) will be racing at the Peyton Scoring Meet at the University of Puget Sound this weekend, March 26th.
The Peyton Scoring Meet is named after Hall of Fame Logger athlete and coach, Joe Peyton - a man, not only of phenomenal talent, but also, of wonderful generosity and genuine kindness.
Joe Peyton high jump 6'8", Western roll style in 1967. He long jumped 24'5" in 1964, a jump that remains as the Logger school record in the event.
Coach Peyton would lead the Logger track and field teams to hundreds of achievements and accolades during his 29 year coaching career. He was not above raking the long jump pit while coaching the Logger jumpers. He is missed, but not forgotten.
